Hi guys, I just collected my shoes from Diamond Walker and thought of sharing my experience here. Was served by Francis, a very friendly guy who knows his stuff. They offer full customization services from choosing the type of leather you want to the color of the threads. One problem I had was that there was just too many selections and options. If you had to choose 1 out of 5 items, it’s easy to make a decision. But when faced with like over 100 selections, it becomes very mind boggling and you just don’t know where to start. Francis asked me questions like my shoe wearing habits and what do I intend to use them for (office or casual) and recommended me accordingly. That helped me a lot.
To cut the story short, this is what I ended up with
I like textures and decided on a blue denim leather and chose a brown suede tassle to add contrast. I saw another pair similar to mine in the shop waiting for collection. It was the same as mine but with blue suede and white stitching. It looked very nice and I almost wanted to just do that same pair
One thing I like about them is the stitching. I chose brown threads with brown sides/skirt? (not sure what’s the proper term but it’s the side of the sole). The stitches are hand stitched, even and symmetrical. I’m into the detailing. Every aspect of the shoes is handmade. Comfort wise, I have to say, they are the most comfortable dress shoes I own. I have medium-wide feet but love narrow shoes. I always thought you there is a balance between comfort and design. Like how woman wear painful high heel shoes to look good. Surprisingly, the shoes look narrow, but are very comfortable. Not to mention, this is just my first wear and it haven’t season out yet. Now I’m thinking of bringing my missus to make a matching pair. Hehe
Hope other DW bros here can share their shoe pics here too for inspiration!
PS. Sorry for the worn shoe pics. I wore it straight after collection
