Anyone experiencing this when you type a word into the textbox? I was still using the widget with ease yesterday.

Theres clearly a dropdown box below the main window however it doesnt seem to be working. I've tried restarting my mbp but its still not working.

Just tested it. Working fine.

Does the dictionary work for other apps? Select a word, right click on it and choose "Look up... ".

Is the widget really necessary??? Why not just tap the word you want to lookup with 3 fingers to get the definition instead. Its much faster.

Seems like the dictionary widget isn't linking to the Dictionary app, while the systemwide dictionary definition works fine.

Hmm. Perhaps a repair all permissions, and even a manual re-application of the latest combo update, might fix your problems.

Download the combo update (I assumed you're using Mountain Lion, so I linked it. If you're using an older version of the OS, please browse and download appropriately.) from Apple for your OS.

Then follow the instructions in the FAQ to do a perfect update.
