Anyone knows if the elections department or police has followed up on this Tik Tok woman?

ELD seemingly cleared her liao using a very funny excuse.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesperson for ELD said: "We are aware of the case involving the voter in Sengkang who recorded and uploaded footage taken of herself at the polling booth within a polling station on Polling Day.

"We have reviewed the incident carefully. We note that the footage does not carry any information on how other voters had cast their vote, and therefore did not compromise the secrecy of their vote.

"Nevertheless, such blatant and irresponsible behaviour can undermine public confidence in the integrity of the electoral process.

"We will strengthen our voter education efforts to reinforce awareness of the do's and don'ts at polling stations. We will also strengthen our training to remind our election officials to watch out and stop such behaviours at future elections."

Very funny because on the one hand like saying it is actually ok to do so, yet on the other like still want to say such behaviour isn't allowed. Conflicting message.

So which is it? Like that means voters can just start filming (even live stream?) inside the polling station and at the polling booth en masse as long as they don't capture the actual votes on the ballot paper? Then what's the point of all the rules regarding no filming inside polling station if they are going to come up with such convoluted excuses just to defend such people who knowingly and blatantly break the rules?

Then again, maybe I'm expecting too much from the same bunch that think "inside polling station is not the same as within the radius of the polling station".

That's how low this country has sunk..

Nvm..next election can try filming at the polling booth since there's no issue as long as dun film anything sensitive.

So can I infer from ELD statement is that as long as what I vote is not compromised then the video is good?

C'mon, since when SG has stoop so low. We have always been a law abiding country right? Ofc we have the unspoken rules of "do anything but don't get caught", but this is a blatant disregard of the rules/laws and she put it right in her profile she knows that she cannot film yet she wants to "open box"

ELD ah ELD. Basic enforcement also not doing correctly, how to trust you with electoral boundary. Oh wait, why would they even care about my trust

They said that they will train their officials better to spot and stop such behaviour. But this begs the question. Stop them on what basis? If the crux of the matter is the whether the person captured the vote on the ballot paper, then why should filming/taking pic inside polling station and even uploading them be disallowed if it doesn't show it?

By virtue of their explanation, it means that the rule has essentially been turned into a guideline (ie encouraged to do so) and need not necessarily be followed. Then how many of the other "rules" are actually just guidelines and not strict rules?
