I am surprised by the popularity of this man.

I do not see any real valuable credit in this man.

Someone who didn't know what is responsibility when he rashly acted in immature manner and got himself and his family in dire stress. A real man don't act in such a way.

Be wary of over rating him. He might be the real paper tiger of all the . tigers

The issue with CSJ is that he tone down this time round and there are HHH, Roy Ngerng, Ravi, Tan Jee Say and many many more extreme opposition this time round to overshadow CSJ's past deed.

He was really rash many years back, probably due to being too passionate.

But now, I find that he's mellowed & became much wiser.

so should i reward him with my vote now that he has re-composed himself and become more voter-savvy?

Wait a while more. He might have a chance to display his CPR skills also in the next few days. See his CPR skills how first then decide.

The media is scary. They can portray a sane and intelligent man as mad and over time people think that he is a mad man.

Normally hor extremism i think is quite complex. But then again actions that are outside the mainstream can be called extremist.

Generally lar if you describe the antics of Dr Chee to the international audience, i doubt the word extremist would turn up. Haha but then again holding a placard and standing someone to protest is considered an extreme action here. So sometimes i wonder is because our society is coddled or there can be no tolerance for dissent even using minor actions.

He was like a mad man when he went after Lau Goh.

But kudos to him, he has done a brilliant job this time around.

Yes being charismatic and intelligent is obviously an issue with CSJ :s13:

EDMW has a lot of hidden SDP supporters. I can't see how a person who is politically inactive for so long suddenly have huge amount of supporters. As I have said previously in another thread. Every ward will have at least 20-30% hardcore opposition supporters. These are given that any opposition willing to participate in the election will be able to garner. It is the additional 20-30% that is going to be tough for him. So far he is doing a lot of things right. With the mood generated by WP, it seems SDP support this year may well increase. But is it enough? That's tough to call.

who never made mistakes before..?

White mafia made mistakes after mistakes.. still got people vote them to be in power.

Why can't give CSJ a chance ?

Don't keep on harping his past mistakes like a broken recorder.

I was wary about this guy years ago, and I'm still not comfortable about him now. He has done much that was detrimental to the reputation of Singapore by engaging foreign media and activist groups for the purpose of slamming the government.

I'm an opposition supporter, but I don't think he has done the right thing.

His sudden rise to fame through the theatrics in his speeches has all the ingredients of a new cult being born.

Be careful.

Just my personal opinion. Don't intend to offend anyone.

so i should vote for him out of sympathy and not the merit of what he is championing?

hmmmmmmmm ok maybe extreme is too strong a word.

Maybe "out of the norm" candidates then. We have Reform Party's candidates twice blurting out "vote for (other party)", we have HHH's rally speech with Leong Sze Hian taking up more than time than HHH. We have Ravi and Roy whose youtube video is still in the internet.

This time round CSJ is focus on policy and improving the life of the people vis-a-vis the other oppositions whose campaign focus is on "We are not PAP".
