perhaps I wasn't clear enough.

I am surrounded by family who barely give 2 f**ks about how technology works except for the convenience it provides and have a typical cheapo mindset that they will rather watch ads than pay for it out of their own pocket. However, as the unofficial tech expert of my family while also being the black sheep of the entire extended family, I have the most unfortunate role of not being able to refuse to help them when it comes to tech.

They may figure it out eventually but because I do such a good job with solving their problems, they default to asking me all the time instead of using their brains. One good example is my brother somehow bricking a Gshock watch because while changing the battery "he didn't think that a slight damage to the O-ring inside the watch would break the waterproof seal".

Getting youtube premium on the family option is about saving MY time. Not theirs.

In this case if they're happy with the ads, just let them watch la. don't pay? If u pay then ok lor no need to cunprain liao.

using YT Premium for family.

reason very simple. we watch youtube on TV. and nope i don't have an Android TV. using LG TV WebOS. the ads are getting ridiculous long.. sometimes need to skip twice.. or need to see the long ads.

Ah. I see what you are doing, troll.

Looks like I was baited.

Basically, in your world:
Talk good about benefits of YouTube premium = complain.
Use Youtube premium to save my time = unacceptable
Watch ads = happy

Whew. Lesson learnt. Should have blocked you sooner.

I do subscribe to Premium.
As I got older, I'm too lazy to find alternatives and troubleshoot.
Family watching on numerous TVs too.
It's okay la. I have money to throw. :ROFLMAO:
Plus got YT Music. I'm still transitioning from Spotify but YT Music's UI so damn atrocious.

Netflix is next on my chopping block. getting too expensive. Already have alternatives but same thing, my elderly family members not so technologically inclined.
