Anyone knows in detail what’s the diff between DPI vs term plan via an agent?

from my research
DPI : cheaper , limited to 400k coverage , can add on CI but mostly only cover 30 CI

via agent : can get some one to assist in your inquiry and claims

Coverage more customizable, and CI cover more

Sadly this DPI is not well publicize. Feels like just for show, like presence wise. The price like not much cheaper too.

agreed. DPI feels too covered , like a hidden secret.

my guess is if DPI became mainstream and popular, which my guess won’t be hard in this internet era.

lots of people will be out of job

FWD term plan can buy up to 1.5M via their website. It's not classified under DPI but can still be purchased directly.

Forego agent is definitely cheaper.
But an agent can service claims for you (whether they bother and do a good job anot is another issue though).

The premium is the same for fwd in this case if i not wrong and they will randomly assigned an agent to you. So might as well find a agent yourself?

There's not a lot for an agent to do with simple term life insurance. It's a very straightforward product. Up to you, but I think saving some premium dollars (and thus leaving them to your survivors) ought to be your primary goal since more money in hand can solve many problems in such circumstances.

I did direct purchase for 300k Term insurance few years ago .

Used the "comparefirst.sg" website to check the different plans, rider and cost. Diy and very reasonable price. Really no need agent.
Same, found out about comparefirst.sg

compare and contrast , seems like their plans are very reasonable. Much cheaper then go by agent. not as if you by agent got any special benefits

Planning to get a plan there soon, can share which plan you went with? Got add on the CI rider?

unlikely they will assign an agent for insurance bought online. i did a random quote on FWD website and the premium seems pretty cheap, don't think it's the same as those sold by agents. best is check with FWD for those interested.

it depends , is that insurance under DPI?

i think DPI and regular term is diff. notice that DPI the coverage is only 400k max

Can I ask why?

im actually looking at this plan but with CI. Prices are reasonable
Not necessarily cheaper also, i can quote from various companies. The cheapest 1 of which doesnt have DPI might be even cheaper than DPI , we never know. And non dpi conditions being covers for ci is more

I have existing policies with CI and felt it was sufficient. These policies were bought for me when i was younger and premiums much lower.

So the objective of the Tokio Marine DPI was to increase my death and TPD coverage.
