difference between local and china money changer

hi everyone, will be visiting Beijing soon and I was told that there is a difference between Beijing airport and local money changer. is it wiser to change there than here? thanks

Get your RMB here. In China you will have to visit banks to have your money changed. A big hassle. At the airport the rate is not fantastic.

Change it here locally. I am in shanghai now

No money change in most shopping area n most local bank do not change. I walk few street only to find bank of china do oversea currency exchange. N changing in bank are very hassle , need passport

some hotels are authorised but rate is real bad. bring your atm card. if you really run out of cash, use it but there is a cap on how much you can withdrawn each time and each day.
