Hi im really confused about SUSS's FT and PT cert. Currently i have a slot for a SUSS FT course but im reluctant to go for it as people can get it by doing part time as well. As part time is easier to get in, will the employer think that i went for the part time one? Is there any differentiation like honours or something? If not i may be opting for SIT instead.

I hear Government/Public sector are not that keen to hire part time local degree holder even if it is from NUS, NTU & etc. In this case, you may miss out job opportunity in this sector as a part time SUSS graduate.

If the cert is the same, why would someone with a 3+ gpa go for it when people of slightly lower gpa can go for the equivalent but part time?

You want to go SIT right?

Go.

Why are you so bothered about SUSS part time or full time degree?

Yes, it is easy to get in to part time degree but is it easy to complete it?

Why don't you try having a full time job and studying part time degree?

Not true.

I had interviews with govt/public sector with my part-time degree.

i got a slot in supply chain but dk if should do it. Not sure if i need a degree to do supply chain

ya. but hr personnel would know this situation best.. like part time, they take in consideration that the person got work relevant job as the degree (suss).

Thats why ft the gpa entry requirement higher (weightage among all the components higher also) and pt weightage goes to the relevant job more and the other assessment methods when they apply for it.

Another alignment they make is ft and pt take same modules, same marking standards already, same exam as ft cohort also. The worth of suss hr part time cert for example, is same as the ft one already.

Understood. However is there any chance for part time students to complete the course equally as fast as FT? SUSS counts NS 2years as relevant experience so they can do part time without having a FT job? i know its a waste of time haha and the part time fees are also cheaper

I’m in part time and I’m telling you, the guidance is really very little. One module only 3 lectures yknw

hmm seems like the biggest merit for FT is that it is easier due to the help available? I also read from hwz that the supply chain lecturers are really bad? that y im still thinking if i should pursue it

for supply chain, i heard the same thing. is not the modules sucks, is due to the nature of the teaching team. its so bad till the extent where ppl will advise u to choose other course instead even if u have interest in it.
