Hi,

Will there be any noticeable performance gains in terms of 100mhz difference for the gtx 1070 cards (between 16XX to 17XX mhz.. )?

of cos there is the brand preference but will like to find out if that difference is cost effective..

im only gaming in 1080p @ 144hz

There is little difference, most will boost to 1900 to 2100 MHz.

Most GTX 1070 can be easily overclocked. If you are thinking whether to buy one that is factory overclock or not, if the price difference is small, then its fine.

So means if u ownself add a huge ass fan to the card u can overclock it as well as a rog strix factory overclock?

Does it apply for vega card?

I may be wrong, but most GTX 1070 max out at some level of overclocking. You can check out reviews out there and should sort of a trend. There are some exceptions where the stock cooling solution is just poor and cannot cope with the heat well.

Vega however is not very overclocking friendly. You can still push a little with Vega 56, but not the 64.

What is the diff between cards by different manufacturer
Is it just the fan and heatsink? The card is exactly the same?

In short, yes.

Generally, just different heatsink design, different fans, different software, different RGB, different features, different default fan curves, different pcb design if not using reference PCB.

Factory overclock is for marketing purpose usually. Under feasible environment, with decent airflow in the chassis and reasonable ambience, the clock will boost higher than factory overclock.

Which Palit model? As mentioned, I would recommend staying away from the Palit Dual. It is probably the cheapest around, but I feel the heatsink fan is barely managing the heat at stock.
