Hi all,

my HB611 is configured as Access Point mode all the while. Recently I went to configure as Router mode and I noticed the LAN ip that the device allocated is with 192.168.88.x

is there a way I can configure it back to 192.168.1.x instead?

You do not want to do that.

The main router is the Singtel ONR (192.168.1.254) and it will give IPv4 address as 192.168.1.x for devices connected to the Singtel ONR.

The secondary router is the HB611-SGST (192.168.88.1) and it will give IPv4 address as 192.168.88.x for devices connected to HB611-SGST.

Hi Xiaofan,

Definitely, i do not wish that to happen. I wanted to actually set the Singtel ONR Bridge mode so that I could have more functionality on the HB611-SGST router. As I'm using the Nokia XGS-240X-A. I followed the below link to configure it.

https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/singtel-onr-nokia-xgs-240x-a-bridge-mode-issues.7160000/

Can I check after I have created this WAN connection, do I need to assign the WAN connection? Because it seems after I have created it, it does not assign a IP address to me in the Status -> WAN Status

That "IPTV" checkbox no need to tick, you should tick the checkbox "Enable/Disable".

You should also tick "Enable VLAN" checkbox.

IP mode --> Add svlan

VLAN ID --> 10

VLAN Pri --> 0

LAN Port binding --> Tick "LAN1" checkbox (10G LAN port).

Then click "SAVE" and see how it goes.

Hi Xiaofan,

Do you mean, after the bridging is done, we should not be connecting to the Singtel ONR (192.168.1.254) and should instead use the HB611 (192.168.88.1) for all devices to connect to?

Or is there a way I could eliminate the use of 192.168.88.x prefix and use back the 192.168.1.x prefix?

The recommendation is not to use 192.168.1.x subnet for your own router even after bridging.

For bridging related issue, please ask in the following thread. The instructions there (Post #321 and #323) are pretty clear to me. You can also take a look at recent report as in Post #494. But if you have issues after reading the posts there, you can always ask.

Technically you can still use 192.168.1.x for your own router connected to the bridged ONR port. However, my recommendation is not to use 192.168.1.x for your own router to avoid confusions even in this case.

For Nokia XS-240X-A, the report is that the ONR unbridged ports are still working for Internet Access after the bridging. So devices connected to the unbridged ports will get 192.168.1.x IPv4 address. And you can connect to the ONR at 192.168.1.254 in case you need to check the FW version or some settings, or if you want to redo the bridging.

BTW, for ZTE F8648P, after the bridging, the unbridged ports will lose internet access. However, you may still need to connect to the ONR at 192.168.1.254 in case you need to check the FW version or some settings, or if you want to redo the bridging. So you still need connect a PC to the unbridged ONR port to do that.

May I check how do I set that to use the same 192.168.1.x subnet?

You mentioned in another thread that you have a wireless AP which is connected to the unbridged ONR port. In that case, this is not doable.

If you do not have devices connected to the ONR unbrdiged port, then you can set up your own router (which is connected to the ONR bridged port) to change the LAN Address to 192.168.1.1 and change your DHCP server settings accordingly.
