Hi

Myself just redeemed for a Draco HDT2-7700 bundle with Funke DSC250 active antenna from Gain City.

After setup, display are ok, but the volume/audio is too soft.
Usually my analogue TV volume at 9-11 levels is loud enough.

However with the TV setup box, my analogue TV need volume adjustment
up to 22-25 levels to heard the audio properly.
Myself already tune the TV setup box audio to max without any effect
on the audio from the TV.

Not sure whether my TV setup box got issue or this is the norm.

Anyone facing the same issue.
Please advise/comment

Thank

May i know which outlet you go?

You can find a separate volume control on the set-top box via the remote control. You need to turn up the set-top box's volume control up to the maximum volume. Then you can dial back down to the usual 9 to 11 levels of volume control on your analogue TV.

Cheers.

The default audio track is 5.1 audio, which has a bigger dynamic range and will sound softer.

You can choose the second audio in Stereo, which will sound louder but you may need to re-select it everytime you power up the box if your box cannot retain this setting.

After 2018, there won't be analogue TV for you to compare audio volume level. Start getting used to it at 22-25 levels. :s13:

For those looking for the K3 DVB-T2 box. The cheapest i sourced is at shopee. $16.43 for the box itself. Free shipping.

Got my Funke 5.1 from Courts for $54 (instead of $59). Pro tip: sign up for their newsletter and get $5 coupon, subsequently unsub once you get the discount code. Order online and collect the next day at the store.

My take: if you are only concern with local channels, with the islandwide implementation of HD broadcast, you are better off with a cheaper alternative. My $25 40-cm stick antenna I bought from SLS many years ago perform so much better; just plug and hide it behind my tv then can play liao. With the Funke, you may have a harder time hiding the box antenna. And as there is blind spot, you need to place it prominently in the open free of obstruction, near to the windows. But once you set it in its place, the signal received is much more stable of course.

And if you are interested with Malaysian and Indo channels, this antenna MIGHT just be worth the money. From Sembawang I managed to tap Malaysian HD channels like TV2, TV3, 8TV etc with the booster; this the cheaper stick antenna couldn’t do. But bear in mind, this is highly dependent on your location and quality of tuner. My old house in AMK can watch Malaysian and Indo channels with my cheapo stick antenna. My standalone STB can detect Malaysian channels, but not my Samsung TV built-in tuner.

For those of you who are interested in my trusty passive stick antenna. Bought this in SLS for $25. Length 40cm, magnetic base 6cm, gain around 6 dbi (compared to 34 dbi for the Funke.)

Plug and play, due to stick shape, don’t need fiddle to find the directional sweet spot like the Funke. Can receive means can receive liao.

I revert to using this antenna for my living room tv due to aesthetic reason. And because this works better than the Funke when hidden behind tv.

I also have this active antenna with a booster. I do not recommend this type. Find them generally useless. Useless without the booster. Still useless with the booster.

I ordered this passive antenna off Qoo10 for $13. Will do a review once it arrives.

Thank you for sharing your experience in using the above antenna.
Was planning to get the above antenna to receive the Malaysia channels.
But, I did not do it eventually as the success rate of getting the signal in the East is zero.

Yeah it’s really a hit and miss. Even though I receive the broadcast signal, the transmission is quite unstable.
