Any one managed to record any shows in their Draco set top box with subtitles ?
I can only answer this question as I didn't play it on PC and my answer is yes, my Draco recorded shows (mainly local or overseas dramas) all come with subtitles. I can also change the subtitle language e.g. recorded with English subtitle on display but can change to Chinese during playback.

Thanks, suuhhc, not sure where I'm doing wrong then. Looks like I have to fix back my Draco box and try again (currently using my uokbox to record).

Wonder if it's a firmware version thingy then. If you don't mind me asking,

1) Your box is Draco 7700?
2) How old is your box (I bought mine from Harvey Norman about a month ago)?
3) Are all your recordings manual record (you press rec and press stop), or timer recordings or mixture (those that have subtitles)?
4) Do you mind posting the firmware version of your box?
5) Anyone know where I can get a firmware upgrade for 7700, if any?

Definitely would prefer to record in this box instead of the uokbox.

1) Yes
2) Got it in 2018
3) Mixture of manual & timer recording
4) HW_Version: MC6520-VER1.0 SW_Version: DVB-T2 HD V1.3.0
5) u can contact Draco maker Skycom at https://www.skycomsatellite.com/contact-us/

I don't think is firmware problem as u can see my box is much older than u & I never upgrade firmware. I'd suggest u to record other show like local drama (1 min will do) & play from the box itself immediately to see if there is subtitle. Don't remove the usb drive & plug to PC.

Will try it out this weekend. I usually make sure the show has subtitles first by checking the same show on my starhub, and had tried rec local dramas / korean dramas / english-movies.

Anyway, will try again this weekend, and check straight away without plugging out the thumbdrive. 🤞

(Manage to find and wrote to skycomsatellite.com yesterday, no reply from them yet)

Thanks for the replies. Appreciate very much!! 🙏

Tried all recordings and different channels. Ensured the shows have English subtitles and are showing it when "live". Went to recordings list and play it after recording, and nope, no subtitles are found. Click on Audio button, the 3 audio streams are shown for selection, but pressing Subtitles button has no reaction at all.

@suuhhc Want to trade your set with mine 🤣🤣🤣 ?

U mention starhub in previous post so u r using pay TV? Did u connect Draco box directly to TV hdmi port or via other TV set top box? I don't have pay TV so don't know about ur setting, mine is just direct plug into TV hdmi port. If u have different connection setting probably that's the reason for subtitle problem?

Mine is too old to trade with u 4 yrs+ liao may spoil anytime 😅 If u still got this subtitle problem when Draco is directly connected to TV then should claim warranty & replace a new 1.

Yeah, the Draco box is connected directly to my non-smart TV hdmi port. Only use it for recording shows that I can't d/l from mewatch or very-very-difficult-to-find shows on the internet (e.g. old b/w or 70s to 90s Indian shows that have almost perfect english subtitles (I'm not an Indian but loves these Indian shows).

Yeah, probably should claim warranty - but should I claim it from Harvey Norman or from Skycom (wrote to them about this subtitle problem but receive totally no response/reply). Will give Skycom a call these few days.

the file is encrypted. can play on draco only.

if you want play recorded file on pc, buy a cheap $20+ dvb set top box. these cheap boxes do not encrypt recorded fikes

Hi,

The TVs in my home suddenly unable to detect several channels (Channel 5, Suria) despite channel-scanning multiple times.

My parents' room TV (Xiaomi TV P1 series) is using a passive antenna with good signal properties (above 90% in both signal strength and quality as reported in the live TV app's diagnostic section )

The living room TV is using an active antenna (USB is plugged in) with good signal properties; similar to my parents' TV.

I am puzzled about this issue. Anyone able to advise? Both antennas were working well for the past 5 to 6 years.

what are the possible causes? Seemed like an issue with Channel 29 or UHF 538MHz.

Fyi, I can't manual scan because there is no such option in the TV.

for active antenna, should look at signal quality. the signal strength is always 100%, not meaningful at all.

so what is the reading for ch5?

Update: both TVs managed to find/tune ch5 and Suria earlier today. Thanks for your feedback.
