103 will not be converted because I say before, MDA requires all pay TV operators to show both SD and HD versions of MediaCorp channels.

Therefore 8 HD will stay at Channel 154

even if they don't convert now... in future when analogue and dvb-t shutdown... mediacorp will only maintain dvb-t2 HD streams... by then i guess pay tv will also provide hd-only streams.
btw... ch 116, 154, 155, 156 are very random... they should allocate empty slots like 170+ or 180+ for permanent FTA HD.

ch154 8(HD) test seems clearer today... but still don't have 5(HD)'s bright and sharp feel.

SH Channel 8 HD Test Channel (recorded by tv tuner)
so far noticed the overall bitrate range from 9Mbps to 11Mbps

wow... starhub ch154 8(HD) test channel now using AC3 Dolby audio... my tv (via hubstation hd) showing Dolby Digital 1080i now (for both audio tracks)... seems like starhub's audio for 8(HD) is better than dvb-t2 (aac only).

Just received this set today. It was quite easy to setup. Get all the 7 S'pore channels. Try to scan for indonesia channels. Cannot get anything.

Then 1 hour later, the remote failed while scanning the EPG. Hopefully they can sent a replacement .

Any problem with setting the audio for HD channels?

took some pictures of the three new Mediacorp HD channels now available on SingTel mio TV. No 8SD, SuriaSD and VasanthamSD channels on mio TV btw.
*TV screen is a little glaring*

:)

when u press the tv "info" button, is it showing "Dolby Digital" or "Stereo"?

for starhub 8(HD) test channel, today the quality is good, HD with dolby audio... after 6pm no more liao... they ended the testing.
they should continue the test channel during night prime time, so that more subscribers can test the quality. :D

Perhaps you were watching a non-HD show that's why. So far this afternoon I have only seen the senior citizen singing competition show in HD. Had to tahan their voices :s13::s13::s13:

Yup, I too agree they need to place the channels somewhere else, if not damn 'messy'. I can't think of any other word to replace 'messy' lol.

Same problem as Kiwi and the others are facing with regards to the HD audio. Moreover, my remote was buggy. Managed to get it working again today, after repeatedly hitting it with my hand. Maybe 1 or 2 buttons got stuck after pressing.

Antennae is Margon 2.0. Signal quality is about 2/3 for channels 27 & 31. Channel 29 is almost 100%.

Location : Toa Payoh, window facing south direction. BTW, rooftop MATV was able to receive the T2 signal too.

anyone knows where the latest firmware is? :s11:

Seller said they are now away for the CNY holidays, when they come back they will check with their engineers. :o

Upon being asked whether there's a website to check for device specifications and firmware, they said it's better not to try the other firmware, and to only use the firmware that they send us. :o

I guess we will have to be patient. :o

Btw does anyone notice that DVB-T2 does have very good picture quality even with signal quality as low as 30%?

Sometimes I even find the picture very watchable without even pixellations with the quality as low as 10% to 20%.

This is not the case with the DVB-T channels where pixellation occurs below signal quality of something like 80%.
