We always had a great time at Jade. $33++ you get a bowl of shark's fin soup, foie gras xiao long bao, mini abalone siew mai and other great stuffs. It's been a long time since we were back and decided to go over in couple of weeks back.
The menu was revamped, we had a shocked. Gone was the shark's fin replaced by the dried seafood soup. Gone was the foie gras xiao long bao, just plain old xiao long bao, Gone was the siew mai and just siew mai. Price still stood at $33++.
The cheese dumpling still as fabulous, the pan fried carrot cake still yummy, the deep fried yam dumpling still has that fragrant truffle scent. However there was a sense of emptiness. That bowl of shark's fin.
Everytime we went to Jade, without fail, there will always be a table who kicks up a fuss. Slow in taking orders, slow in serving etc. And somehow they will always be seated next to us.
Priced at $33++, you will be hard pressed to find a better value dim sum buffet at 5 star hotels. However, we will be in search of other places to fulfill our dim sum craving now that Jade has lost it's novelty on us.
