No solution. Order lesser or waste food or ask boss is there smaller portion for 1 pax.

Go for those ultra expensive meals that gives little portions

like those degustation set with google reviews saying jiak buay bah. Limit to those that are 4-5 course and leave the breads alone.

tang mee later

Buy bread, fried rice, pizzas. Can eat half and keep the rest for the next meal.

Those in foreign countries usually have to dress up , make advance orders and they don't eat alone

give leftovers to homeless??? :(
what's wrong?? Not like you spit or drool saliva on every food right and if you really just take a bite only then all the more is consider clean what? what's wrong with leftovers also? you rather see them starve to death?

I’m half joking on that. You can eat alone but most others are not. Good restaurants eg with those degustation often need to reserve first, and I suppose it is fine to dress up.

Esp important to reserve in advance for popular ones, dinners and weekends, while weekday lunch not so bad

true advice is if food is deem important in a trip, plan ahead and have a variety of different local cuisine spread out the trip.

avoid red meat and carbs as it is easy to feel full faster: Seafood is a safe option as they tend not to give big portions but of cos these tends to be costly

certain food like paella are served for minimum two pax, then one need to google for exceptions eg some market stores do sell for solo diners though they ain’t as good as the restaurants

Another way to try a variety is to visit their markets (or basah malam) with cheap food in bite sizes

walk 1-2 round to decide what you like to eat and prioritize (cos u can’t eat too many either) then on the second to third round, you can go and buy

doing research before hand does help so that u know slightly better what food these are and how big portion they are.

I did that with friends though, not solo and didn’t do homework. Just ate what the two others like, all three of us small eaters but get to eat like 4-6 items. I’m sure guys here who eat more can try at least 2-3 items without spending too much

drop the variety idea and go for the one meal you gonna fancy most

You may have options to ask but ppl have plenty of reasons to turn down the offer. TRUE STORY.

You wanna try more cuisine and dishes, come again next time.
