Seeing all these stupid news make me sick.
🤮🤮🤮🤔🤔🤔

$2000? That’s 20,000 bottles.
Every month confirm got 20,000 bottles for that person to collect to earn a stable salary?

SG media wanna dua pao sian do fake news also not like that mah. Bluff the general public, bluff to elderly and young adults and chewren. Machiam wanna angle the news as if this BCRS programme can create jobs for people. Just everyday go around collect and recycle bottles can liao.

So what are they trying to tell the public by publishing all these ā€œstoriesā€? IYKYK.
Its not 20000 in 1 month

If he's telling the truth , 100 cans a day is phenomenal . Much less 300

Sometimes its not the time spent
He can dig through 10 dustbins and won't hit his targets

And.now there's definitely more competition
Doesn't include transport costs. One bus/MRT ride already worth 10-20 bottles/cans.

i saw a bangala carting 3 full trash bags of cans/plastic bottles and getting 12 dollars at lau pa sat.

3 FULL BIG trash bags, for 12 dollars.

thats a great tradeoff, they get to earn some pocket money and help us recycle the bottles/cans.

and for 12 dollars, its an amount small enough not many would do it but those bangalas and aunties/uncles would. So no one is "fighting" for these recyclables.

whats the problem here?

How šŸ¤”? no issue right ?

Many walk across the causeway and are sleeping in the streets on benches like the homeless. Then they pick the cans and bottles. I see alot of them sleeping along singapore river on my early morning jog before work.

Working as intended IMO. They get pocket money, we get better recycling numbers.

The important part is that if they search bins, they should be compelled to leave them as they were found.

The compulsion should be strong. Make the penalty for making a mess the equivalent of collecting 2000 bottles of more.

Just read an article about a foreign worker that was electrocuted to death while working.
They had a tough time in Singapore while working.
0.10 cents here and there does not make any difference to us .
Just give chances to them .
Try to give $2 to the rubbish workers in your area because they got much more waste from people ordering from e-commerce , boxes, plastic bubble …..

I was wondering if TS is suggesting that foreign workers make a good living while collecting cans and bottles.
What if the foreign workers make $3000 a month and $36000 side income in a year .
Is IRAS going to collect Income tax from it ?
If the foreign workers collect collectively and collect at least $1 million.
Is IRAS going to collect GSt as well .
After all, the 0.10 was collected from us beforehand.
I am quite sure TS was wondering the Loss of taxes for our country.
Well Done !
