Discussion | Beverage Container Return Scheme BCRS

[Joseph12]

i think they are removing some of the bicycle parking space at HDB to make way for the machine.

What?

Nah
Plenty of space

I bet those supermarkets so happy to have the machines are PAID for it
Paid for space & electricity and paid for staff to clean and pack plastic bags for them

For those constrained by space they could easily upgrade model to giant size one. There's one like triple normal volume

[Joseph12]

Did PAP Create new class of beggars for cans & bottles ?

Saw some one pushing a huge trolley on road past restaurants etc.
Seems to be begging for cans & bottles
Never going to work cos .... for obvious reasons. 1. Its their money. Or 2. Its extra money into staff's pockets

At most beggar can get about $20 doing this
& those dealing with these beggars KNOW it's pointless talking sense to them

[Joseph12]

Also saw this Karen taking over an entire machine
Cos she's got a huge black trash bag filled with cans . Must be 100 to 200

Don't know what I'm seeing
1. This is her 1 week's haul?
2. She goes to hawker centre carrying black trash bag and beg for cans? This is unlikely cos this is the hawkers' money

For hawker centre do they sell the drinks at the raised or original price? Cause think its public space hard to collect back the drink containers bah.

So, if go hawker centre find, probably still can find some lying around as those who drink outside one, especially those who dress nice with places to go to after that, hard to imagine they carry an empty drink container around. So they will probably throw bah.

Yah especially those shops that use those thick plastic cups. Should have 10 cent return too.

It's about recycling dude, these cups may not be recyclable or cannot mix with cans which are aluminium.

I need to pay extra and go and refund to recycle. But when i buy and throw plastic cups I don't need to pay. Of course i rather use the plastic cup, save time save money

What did she do that deserve the "Karen" moniker?

[Joseph12]

What did she do that deserve the "Karen" moniker?

Obvious

[euro2012]

whole nation of garang kunis..

i hate those karens/male karen whom one whole bag 20-30 bottles to return and hog the machine

[Mystyque]

Obvious

Not to me. How many cans/bottles do you have? did you ask if she can let you dump your can/bottle first?

Nah
Just walked by and wanted to see the machine for research purposes
Saw a cleaner sitting nearby laughing
Then I saw her

So she didn't do anything deserving of the karen label, why you so quick to judge her?

The heat is on!

I see locals and foreigners fighting over the same pie
We shall see who'll win

And 20 to 30 is nothing these days

Because she is

There's no need to argue over this
I'm not interested
