thats why when this BCRS was implemented, its just another white collar elephant project to either track, or to spend the excess acummulated funds , and its now getting alot of flak like the return tray

again, cursedes to those who think and implemented this rather than have it money free.

Irony of it, Civil serpants salaries must increase, but the way they think and spend on public funds are amazingly r3t@rded , worse than my nieces and nephews can think off :s22:

That's why I keep saying pappies attempt to solve 1 problem and create many more.

In the first place, this plastic bottle isn't a problem to begin with. Probably someone need to show case something to justify for promotion.

KPI perhaps. To show their increasing pay is justified by showing they got do something breaking. They like nowadays like to tackle such environmental related issues. If so, think can guess what coming liao in their next venture.

There is what happens when these people ransack the bins and leave the trash all over the place. The mess then attracts pests such as rats and cockroaches. I don’t have any problem if they place all the trash back into the bins.

There are people who go through such lengths to earn the 10 cents per bottle/ can, there is something wrong with the society right

This is not something breaking, innovative or world's first. It's just copying and repackaging what other countries have done.

The only innovative and world first I can think of is the ERP. Really 100% efficient in collecting $$$ from drivers and non-drivers.

Recently news keep showing people get how much get much mah. It's quite lucrative actually.
The other recycling metals can't compare except maybe higher quality copper wires. Even paper now is $0.10/kg , it's a no brainer to pivot over to pick BCRS cans

it's sad to see a first world country with this kind of 3rd world behaviors...

the original intention is to promote recycling amongst the general population, but now it seems to show the ugly side of the country - when people have to search for thrown away cans / bottles just to 'earn' 10 cents per piece, assuming these people are less well-to-do and don't have the support from society.

next month (from 1 Oct) when retailers are no longer allowed to sell drink cans / bottles without the logo, it'll become even more widespread.
