Today my count is 5
So its 34!

And 1 guy so nice
Throw bottle on top of bushes for me to pick
If its in bushes then impossible cos bushes sharp & thorny and thick
Like only rats and cats can crawl in

I also notice alot of cans deep deep deep in dustbins
No, I don't pick them up like that
You need to remove entire cover and bring out the bag to do it

This answers why some people can get so many cans
I think easy ..... 30 to 50 cans like that
Easy.
EASY

I actually got a 6th today
So its 35 cans

It was literally 15 metres away from machine and someone threw it on floor
After walking back and claiming it , was so tired , just call it a day

For 10c a bottle, it's not worth the money to spend time collecting bottles aka "hunting", that's why I only collect "along the way" aka "gathering" to minimize time spent and maximize effort
Chiu eyes trained at spotting recyclable bottles. Moi eyes trained on spotting calcium cannons and booties :s42:

If need to rinse every can before recycling, then isn’t that wasting water also? We always say “every drop counts”, but now we save one can and waste water just to rinse it.

The bigger question is, how do we get such policies reviewed or changed? Voting them out is not so simple anymore, especially when we have become more of a welfare society with all the vouchers and payouts. There must be other ways for citizens to make their voices heard and hold the government accountable.

I had just recycled 2 bottles and I can feel that the government did not think it would be successful.

While on my second bottle, an elderly auntie was behind me with 3 bags of bottles/cans.

If we use the recycling machines like how we buy bottles/cans, is 1 machine serving an area enough?

And how do they handle the transport of the collected bottles/cans to the recycling plant?

I doubt they plan this with mass usage ie got do can already.

After all, the deposits collected is enough as many will not be collecting it back.

Moi think ish not the govt think is not successful, is more like they want private companies to tah the cost and reduce cleaning cost and also claim we are "green"...hehe!

Very competitive now, the uncle who used to collect aluminum cans around Tampines is now also checking plastic bottles and cans for 10cents logo now. Good for him and mother earth!

Try and let us know

Anyway don't know why its so slow if after 1 October every thing will still be the same and Singapore will still get it's bottled and canned drinks largely from Malaysia

If cannot handle it just get staff to stick stickers on the bottles instead of changing the labels and printing on cans

Moi encountered a son and mother last night trying to return a bottle with the logo but the machine rejected it, I myself also not sure why. Maybe the machine nv update the barcode database? :s11: The barcode and printing looks clear to me.

EDIT: Machine vendor is SGRecycle
