Suggest you go watch the TV series "Silo", where the protagonist tries to inject some "substance" into the drinking water to affect the population, then some characters in the show suggested the idea to drink from canned drinks to avoid the substance in the tap water. Anyway this one just TV series drama fiction.

Can just pump it into the reservoir.
