You've returned negative for the past 6 years? I think its time to stop..

Not to mention you don't seem emotionally strong enough to take on such risks.

I trade Dow Futures.

I've over 8 years of trading experience.

Last week was a profitable week for me, but not my best week.

If you want to trade currencies, I suggest you trade Futures. There are GBP Futures and EUR Futures.

IG is a CFD provider. They charges you by spread, which put you in a disadvantage. CFD is your enemy, not your friend.

My first advice to you is to get the right broker and platform. Open a Futures Account.

I use TradeStation because I like their platform, but they don't have office here. If you want a broker with a Singapore office, you can approach InteractiveBroker.

i trade future as well,Think or swim is the future that i trade. in fact, CFD do provide Future or cash product as well........oanda also can trade dow jone.....too many product.........leverage etf as well......

but i don;t understand why you say CFD spread put you disadvantage?
to me, even the future, there is also spread, depend on timezone.

in fact i trade dow jone as well, but difficult to profit and lose alot.........
especially i always willing to short....which i short from 16000 to 18000, which a huge lose for me........

a very precious experience for me is........make your holding position time as less as you can.........more might be harmful and painful for me.......

you interesting to have discussion? perhaps by wechat or whatsoever?
so whenever you execute order or what share opinion or what?

You are confusing CFD spread, which is what they charge you on your trade, and Futures Spread, which is a product sold in the Futures market.

Futures do not charge you by spread, they charge you by standard commission and fee per contract.

In trading, accuracy is important. Trading Futures can be accurate because there is no spread between that causes premature entry or exit. You can't do this with CFD because the spread is a black box that changes without warning.

CFD providers make money by spread, which means the more you enter and exit, the more they made. So, they naturally wants to you enter and exit more often; and how do they do that? By increase the spread when you least expected and cause you to exit your trade prematurely. There is a conflict of interest here. Their success is not based on your success, their success is based on you taking as much trade as possible. This mean, you must lose as much as possible.

The worst thing is that the spread calculation is not transparent. You have no ideal how and when they going increases their spread. You don't know that, you can't develop a working strategy.

If you have TOS, then use it for Futures trading.

I agreed with you, but somehow I still think there is not much different.....unless you are active trader which only earn few point then the spread does matter? Previously I have concern on the spread as well......but somehow I found out compare to compare the spread....the trend and timing is more important.....which I believe when high volatility the future buy and sold price also different....

Do share your experience how 'accuracy' make profit....I think I really lack of that and cannot understand that.....

Wth u were on wrong side of the trade, multiple warning from banks n finance sector about upcoming volatility swings, Soros already come out and warn, FX brokers lowering margin for pairs regarding GBP.

And yet u still go and trade GBP, and on wrong side somemore. I do not hesitate to extract value from u, negative cash, ur networth, until u bankrupt and etc. u deserve it.

Still wan to discuss anything dumber ??

i agree with Lewis. correct me, but i think one of your issue you should take a look is your money management. you seem to be taking position greater than your margin and are running into losses without taking appropriate measures. It seem more like "gambling" than "trading" and there is a subtle difference between both.

advise that you stop trading and reflect :D my 2cents worth of opinion. I am also a newbie and have experienced streak of losses in my FX trading.

Be a shareholder rather than a trader, can sleep better. Events like Brexit make shareholders happy, can buy back shares at a cheap price. Even without major disruptive events, shareholders still make money if the companies have a profitable margin and this translates back to equity growth and dividends.

All seem negative feed back.........become share holder the earning seem very slow..........and in my opinion the market now is extreme high..........
thus the only option for me is short, short STI, short dow jone and the rest........
but yet it seem difficult..........timing and the way i short seem no correct.......thus may need some opinion or discussion.......

will load on the stock when the market crash like 30-50% from the highest drop........but it seem like not easy........even this brexit......the market seem recover fast.........we will see it in the coming week.........if really the market crash then is the right time to in stock.....

If you want to short, short where the fear and uncertainty is, in europe. In sg, not so much fear, many people cash rich, still in buying spree mode. If want to short sg, wait until big uncertainty sets in and the rich also fearful of losing.

i give 1x million dollar advise, dont short or long the market on monday becos nobody now knows where the market is heading. What seems cheap to u may seem expensive.

Who knows the political scene may come out and all markets +10%. Ur shorts will be wrong again. Hope u dont lose any more. And as on Sat fyi, the 3 big power in EU, wanted UK to get out of EU asap, not like give them 3-10 yrs to slowly work it out. Lets see how it develops.

U shld have shorted shares on thursday night, b4 the US closing at 4pm NY time as that was greed reflected in the Index. Anything u short then (except safe haven currency) will make any money easily, and now u can say many satki stuff like making 1 mill in a day.

I hope u know safe haven fx that will pop up when theres a flee to safety, else i suggest u stop trading.

If you are a cook, would you use a broken knife that cuts you every time you make a dish.

If not, then why as a trader, would you use a broker who fleece you every time you make a trade.

Accuracy is one thing, but your issue now is not using the right tool and you are trying to justify why you should continue to use the wrong tool.

You are trading currencies, so why is trend important? Trend is important, if you are trade stocks.

In currencies, timing and accuracy is the most important.

Your main issue is that you lack of strategy.

FYI, I already know what I want to do when market opens on Monday. And no matter market goes up or down, I know my probability of winning is high.

You have to learn to let go of your opinion. It's not your opinion that moves the market, it's market sentiment that moves market. The market can be very high, but if sentiment is bullish, market will continue to claim.

So it does not matter how market move last week. If Monday's market sentiment is bullish, I'll continue to long; and if it's bearish, I'll continue to short. It's that simple.

So I really hate to be rude, but: if that's not a typo, and you're down 80%, whether that's over one year or six years, you should probably find another hobby.
