You are buying HSBC ADR which has lower yield than the HSBC listed in HK since share price is cheaper in HKSE
I used IB. The dividend normally 0.51 usd or 0.5 usd per year, you can check it against current price.

The management has promised consistent dividend payout(absolute amount) and they are selling non performing assets to improve earnings and at the same time doing sharebuybacks.

You can keep a look out for its third quarter result. I have plan to raise my stake to at least 10 k shares in HSBC, so my view may be biased.

Glad to see you pop by. Any thoughts on how (or should it?) a dividend portfolio would fit in relation to your recommendations in the eBook?

I think the only time you actually want a dividend portfolio is if you're retired and you need the income. If you're still growing your portfolio, you don't want dividends - you want the cash to be plowed back into your portfolio!

Also, chasing huge dividend yields (things with an 8, 9, or 10 handle) is pretty dangerous. Yields that are that high tend not to be sustainable; either the dividend's going to get cut, the share price is about to drop for some reason, or both.

Thanks for your inputs, I appreciate it! And it does make sense too.

I believe many come in here as they'd went thru the mentioned high and low harvest journey and looking to lay semi retire path in future.

Please double check. Normally or first time US50c?

I mentioned it before in August when the price was below 55HKD.
