CPU+ Mobo: ASROCK H81M-HDS + i5 4460 (327)
RAM: CRUCIAL PC 12800/1600MHZ DDR3 CL11 VALUE RAM (8GB) (99)
GPU: POWERCOLOR R9 280 3GB TURBODUO (285)
SSD: PLEXTOR M6S 128GB (99)
HDD: TOSHIBA 1TB 7200RPM (69)
DVD-RW: LG 24X DVD-RW SATA OEM (25)
PSU: THERMALTAKE SMART SE 630W (85)
Case: NZXT SOURCE 210 WHITE (69)
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREM (120)

Total cost: $1178

Buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, get PC Themes to assemble for you for a fee.

Notes:

1) This rig should be capable of max settings without AA in Company of Heroes 2 and High settings (maybe Ultra) in Rome 2.

2) The NZXT Source 210 is chosen because it is cheap, comes with white and should have a simple design. (I think? :s11:)

3) Might be a good idea to ask again when you really want to buy as by then, AMD may have introduced the R9/7 3XX GPUs and Intel may have introduced the Broadwell CPUs, which may cause a large revolution in the hardware market and causing the build to be cost ineffective by then.

The next step from our current haswell cpu. It shouldnt be a big leap in perfomance over the current gen cpu's as it is only a die shrink, so its just uses less power only.

The bigger leap will come after broadwell, called skylake which is the architecture improvement. So cpu wise dont stress too much. Cost shouldnt be that much different, since intel keeps prices similar from one gen to the next. And the usual saying goes, cpu isnt the biggest factor in gaming

Just keep note of the new amd cards coming out. That's more to take note of.
