DIY ADVICE WITH 8K BUDGET

Computer passed away today.. so need to build a new CPU only

What would you build if you are looking for something hardcore, can support 4K resolution gaming without lag, water cooling solution, not larger than Mid tower

Trust me your 8K PC's performance is going to be outrivalled by a 1K PC within 3 years.

Your 8k pc will look like nothing within 3 years.

Just make sure you buy a good decent one. Save up the rest and slowly upgrade when needed.

Always know that, it does not mean you spent more = your pc can last long. Upgrading it will.

on my laptop doing some research at the moment. i'm not trolling.. infact going to SLS tomorrow to get my set up done.

Just too lazy to upgrade my pc in the next 2 years, after 2 years i dont mind spending another 8k budget for a new pc... cheers

8k is a total waste of your money and not gonna bring you anything if you are just gaming. With current gpu standards its not even able to deliver 4k resolution properly.

Get a 3k rig. Save up the 5k for other upgrading purposes.

Always take note. Spend more your com also obsolete within 3 years. You spend lesser also obsolete within 3 years.

In 2-3 yrs time, any 1k to 10k rig will be obsolete liao... So, still want throw 8k down?

Thanks for the advice. I have not been following up on DIY for 3years.. and was throwing my actual available budget to see what I can get at best.

Also been reading there is no major different in gaming between LGA 1155 and LGA 2011? .. also read somewhere LGA 2011 perform better in SLI or Crossfire?

If you want to go more than 2gpus. Then yes you would probably need a 2011 board.

Go for 2gpu setup like gtx780ti. It should deliver more than enough horsepower for even a 1440p resolution gaming at higher refreshing rate at 96hz and above.

TS reminds me of a former coworker of mine; spend over $5k on a rig (dual Titans) yet says PS3 graphics are better than his dual 1080p monitor setup

Get a Zx7 mobo + i7 x770K + GTX x80, sell, and repeat every one or two years. You get 500% more value for your money than spending a big bomb once every 3 yeats

TS sounds like he's an enthusiast who just wants to build a top of the line rig. There's nothing wrong with that. If I had 8K to spend, i'd do the same thing!

Check out the Buyers Guide sticky, pick one of the extreme configs, then head over to ekwb to spend another ~$2000 on the wc stuff. Then enjoy putting it all together.
