To my knowledge, I've never heard a complaint about the authenticity or quality of the goods sold (such as parallel imports, warranty or open box/seconds/rejects), unlike many shops in SLS, many of which have gone out of business in the interim.

Fuwell is a bit more expensive than say, tradepac, but just a few %. Certainly not "chop carrot" levels given their location near the lift and escalator.

SLS has always had a bad reputation among locals. Plenty of dubious salesmanship and other practices that spoil the shopping experience. Fuwell, in my book, doesn't fall into that bracket. There should be more shops run like them.

Nobody buys stuffs in SLS at SRP. Not unless its at Funan where all things are sold at old/new SRP.

Why we say chop carrot? Cause at times they sells things at slightly above SRP. Like a Corsair H100i aio cooler was sold at $189. Thats like $10 slightly more. Even if the price tag were to be priced at $200 why wouldnt it be a chop carrot pricing when we can get the same item at probably a lesser price at 10-15% difference? Not just that. The stocks came from the distributor locally.

Sorry but their service level across all including pct is the worse service level. They are definitely not good in service standard. Or basically they are just sg service standard across.

I have my fair share of bad experience from fuwell. Even such a long term in the business industries, they are still no where near good. I asked for a gtx650ti, and was thrown in a asus variant which i could have gotten a gtx660 at that price. Of cause during that time im not into hardwares and i do not know much.

And their staffs are the worse. Give the tida apar type. At times was fine. At times was so sticky. Following you everywhere you go.

Local shops do serve a purpose. Online is not always cheaper or better.

While I think that SLS shops can and should improve their customer service, it would be terrible if all the local shops go bust. Not everyone knows how to buy PC components and assemble a PC.

I will just say I've had at least one episode of bad service from just about every hardware store in sls over the past two decades. Some I never patronized again. Service standard is a slippery pole to judge sls by. It's a bonus to find someone honest and knowledgeable with usable advice.

For those who refuse to be the carrot that overpays even a dollar more, stay home and shop from Amazon. Or tradepac. Speaking of which, service there? Non existent.

Fuwell has some items that are a little more expensive, some a little cheaper than their neighbors. It's much easier to comparison shop than say between ntuc and giant, even if they are right next to each other, because they don't publish their price lists. And we can always make a case of one chopping the other, just because there'll always be some items cheaper and some dearer.

I'd rather shop somewhere I can be assured of the product. But that's just me.

Sooner or later the SLS shops' IB will start to invade here and post things that border on subtle marketing under the guise of asking questions or seeking advice.

Mention of any shop name should be banned.

Leave the forumers to do their own market research and buy from their own preferred shop.

Fuwell used to be nice, I gotta admit back in the 2008 and 2009, I only go there and they never failed to provide all the inquiry I had accurately...


I gotten a 10% discount before when I assemble my first high end rig there, I save almost $400 bucks, the person who gave me the discount was one of the store manager (very friendly) back then and I was told not the disclosed the name, so yes I wont say is who.


I guess its all up to personal and heng suay, I admit I never patronize Fuwell again since 2010 when their price went up considerably... I knew Yilong and from then I only go to PCT.


If you ask me about building PC, u can always go to PCT find Yi long and clarify with you whatever doubt u have, den do your own judgement as to buy which product from which shop. Yilong is extremely reliable when it comes to PC part information, if he dunno he will just say: "Err sorry I really dunno, you probably have to google."

In an ideal world where shops all offer at least decent service and not try to rip unknowing newbies off, that would work. But unfortunately SLS is hardly that so this is lesser of the evil.
