Hi all,

Helping a friend to build a budget gaming rig as his laptop went dead.

1. Budget 1k
2. No need OS/KB/Mouse/Monitor
3. Currently only playing Dota 2 but best if this rig can support future games
4. Prefer small chassis (ITX possible with this budget?)
5. Need AC WLAN (built in mb or external card?)

Please recommend a rig. Thanks all

anyway what is the difference between mini-itx and micro-atx???

Size.

Pcie lanes slots, matx 2 has 16/8x,and other 1x slots, itx only has one slot for graphics. Also Matx has more storage capacity with more sata slots. Same for fans if not wrong.

Can corsair 250d fit all the above? Can't find Sapphire 280 dual-x in the pricelist.. actually which budget GFX can play dota 2 in max settings?

edit: sorry saw corsair 250d quite big, how abt Thermaltake core v1 as my friend said cm elite 120 quite ugly...

Most of the sub $100 range card will handle Dota without much issues, the problem is "future proof" other games

Core v1 is my original recommendation but the 280 is roughly 26cm and Core v1 will only hold cards that are 25.5cm and below

U can also consider Zotac gtx750ti , pretty small card that will fit most cases
