Hi Guys, I am looking to build a gaming pc under SGD $1000. Look around for abit and this is what i have my eye on.

CoolerMaster N200
Asus H81M-A
Intel ® Core™ i5-4590
WD Blue 1TB SATA 6GB/s, 32MB Cache, 7200RPM
Kingston 4GB Module - DDR3 1600MHz
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64 bit)
Zotac Geforce GTX750 Ti 2GB
Corsair VS550

I'm thinking of ordering from mynextcom since they do delivery.

This will be my first DIY pc so i'm a complete noob. I don't need run all games at ultra high settings.
Will it be better to get a wireless PCI-E cards or the USB kind?
Please give me some suggestions!

1) Name all games that you wish to play with this rig.

2) State internet plan amd model of router used.

3) Might be better to go to Sim Lim Square, get your rig assembled there and carry it home yourself, save delivery charges.

Heard very bad reviews about Corsair low end series (CX and CS). Try CM V550? Gold rated.

Pcie and USB wireless adapter not much difference, I think USB is cheaper and more convenient though.

I see. CM V550 is a little more costly but it does seem more reliable.

Dragon age inquisition, Assassin's Creed 4, Transistor and No man's sky when it comes out.

I'm using a Singtel fibre plan 200M and router is the black aztech dsl7000grv. Router is in the living room.

CPU+ Mobo: ASROCK H81M-HDS + i3 4160 (237)
RAM: CRUCIAL PC 12800/1600MHZ DDR3 CL11 VALUE RAM (8GB) (99)
GPU: POWERCOLOR R9 280 3GB TURBODUO (285)
HDD: WD 1TB BLUE (75)
DVD-RW: LG 24X DVD-RW SATA OEM (25)
PSU: XIGMATEK TAURO 500W (75)
Case: CM N200 (55)
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREM (130)
Networking: ASUS PCE-N15 (59)

Total cost: $1040

Buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, get PC Themes to assemble for you for a fee.

Notes:

1) This rig should be capable of playing your games at High settings. If you are unable to cough out more than $1000 for this rig, consider the Powercolor R7 265 2GB Turboduo for $229 instead. However, do take note that the R7 265 would only be able to play your games at Medium-High settings at best.

2) The Asus PCE-N15 is a PCI-E wifi adapter that is good for up to 300Mbps of data transfer.

1. suggests amd R9 270, 270x & 280. Performance is better though higher power consumption but about same price as 750ti. I just got the Saphhire 280 at Videopro. It's probably the cheapest 280 right now.

As temps can get high for intense games, suggest place intake fans below gpu at bottom of case. i managed to bring down temps by about 5 degrees.

Do note AMD cards may have audio driver clash with the HD audio. i had to disable the Realtek audio driver so i can get hdmi audio through the amd card. Nvidia does not have this issue.

but it's a small issue. if u line out audio through the pc port, then it's no problem.

2. I agree the Deepcool tess is probably the best value case out there, if u don't mind the size.

3. Pci-e networking is better imo. also frees up usb port. i have both TP link 881 and asus n15. both work well. Do note the asus needs some Realtek driver to function properly. it has speed issues on my asrock h81 mobo but works ok for my acer mobo. it's not a bad card but some driver compatibility issue here. do google for the issues as it's quite widespread. Tplink was fuss free for me.

I love this build :D

I'm going with this. But with an i5 and a corsair C550M that monikernemo suggested.

A big thank you to all of you who replied. I'm so excited. Can't wait :s13:
monikernemo is actually talking about the Coolermaster V550 PSU, not the Corsair CS 550M PSU. Both PSUs are being sold at mynextcom.com at the same price and it is better that you get the CoolerMaster instead as the V550 has better internal build quality than the CS550M. The Aurum S 600W would also do as well.
