DIY Downsizing that shirt, good idea?

I have a couple of shirts (tucked out) when trying out at the store, looked fine, but after bringing it back or washed, somehow grew a size up. And have never been touched eversince... what a waste of space! (And some how not exchanged within the 7-day period)

Haha.

Anybody else encounter this too often?

And anybody actually did some cutting, be it yourself or the tailor and it turned out as what u wanted it to be?

Haha no! I think I have to pay very close attention to the fitting next time in in the changing room.

Try tucking in (if that's how u usually wear it). Could it be a rare and unlucky instance of u taking a new piece of the shirt that u tried in the same size but perhaps not done properly or size labelled wrongly.

In any case, advise against DIY downsize unless it's something that you have tried before or are ready to write off the shirt if your DIY goes wrong. Better to get it professionally altered.

I dont think they labeled it wrong... felt like it's just my poor judgement haha.

Yeah I don't actually mind losing the shirt... would be a fun project to do anyways. Also Ive seen some blogs that managed to do it, but well... they are experienced haha.

I managed to try it on my cotton shirt. Did a shoddy one, but it doesn't matter coz when I wear it, it looks natural as the creases just fall into place.

But I pulled in a lil bit only... Maybe like 1.5 cm...
At the end if the day i will still use it often because really fits my body snug as compared to last time.
