Hi all

Finally changing my 6 year rig to swap it for new parts.

Got some questions here.

Samsung SSD 840 Pro OR 850 Evo OR Crucial M550 256GB?

R9 280x or 280? MSI one can? Sapphire looks cheaper but like hear not very good. My current powerbox unit is 650W. If need to upgrade it do tell me.

Got good casing to introduce? If got those dust and rust proof one that would be good. Not very sure on this one, do advise.

Best processor and motherboard for $300-$400? Intel Core i5 4670 & Gigabyte H87-D3H good?

I have 2 x 2gb RAM from Kingston DDR3 1600MHZ from 6 years ago. Throw and buy new one or just add?

What parts buy from Sim Lim, Amazon or Lazada? I don't mind waiting for my parts so long as I can get at a better price.

Thanks all

1) The Crucial M550. The increased write speeds of the Samsungs are not very noticable during gaming.

2) Name all games that you are currently playing. Also, why do you think Sapphire GPUs are not very good?

3) State brand and model of your PSU.

4) Can always add dust filters and have a positive casing pressure configuration to keep out dust. If you want rustproof casing, can consider aluminium casing, but these things are very expensive. Best to go to Sim Lim and take a look at the casings displayed there.

5) Get a i5 4460 and MSI B85-G41 PC Mate for $357 instead.

6) Just buy another 4GB Stick of RAM to get 8GB RAM.

7) Would be best to just buy from Sim Lim unless you don't care much about the lack of warranty on the parts if you buy from Amazon.

8) Budget?

9) Name the parts used in your 6 year old system.

Nice I just bought the Crucial M550 from Lazada.

I play CS:GO and Dota 2 most often but I like the option to be able to pick up Witcher 3 or Dragon Age: Inquisition as and when. I think Sapphire wasn't very good compared to the others 6 years ago. Not sure now. I usually buy a $300-400 graphics card to last me like 4-5 years, hence I narrow it down to R9 280 or 280x.

Most value for money casing is which kind? Ikonic EN2?

Budget depends on parts. Graphics Card willing to go $300-400, Processor and Motherboard think i will get the 4460 you recommend. Will also get a 4gb RAM stick to top up to 8gb RAM. Casing willing to go 100+. My budget is flexible, I prefer to get something that can last me 4-5 years then change every 2-3 years.

Existing parts:
Core i5 750 + MSI CD53
ASUS Radeon HD5850
2x2gb Kingston RAM, actually should be 1333MHZ
1TB Hard Drive
Samsung 22x DVDRW
PSU is Andyson AG Series 650W.
No SSD card, 6 years ago not in fashion yet haha

Not intending to change the hard drive and dvdrw as I have enough external HDD and I dont use dvd often on my desktop anyway. Power I think it is fine to support a r9 280x, do correct me if i am wrong.
