DIY NAS +Synology 4.1 OS

Thanks. Will give this a spin on my pc. Want to feel what is synology nas. Btw I'm using buffalo pro duo.

hows the buffalo? was thinking of getting one..

edit:
or shld i make use of my brother's old desktop that is running on amd athlon 3500+?

my buffalo pro duo write average 40MB+ and read 70MB+. only use ftp, web access and torrent remotely.
just played with synology web gui looks good but not yet transfer my backup to it. if speeds can get 100MB average sounds great. only power output not so friendly.

Those are wired connection? was thinking if I should get one or reuse my old com and convert it

Yes wired speeds.
Old com as long your hardware supports should be fine. Not important data on it.

Sounds like a plan.. unas case from China+atom /celeron, raid card then install this os

Good! I just "emptied" my atom 4TB DIY NAS and probably will get another A4 5400 NAS , can install both with this OS to play play. :D
