It might surprise you to know that the PC show does not really sell PC parts.

Anyway, as per your specs -

gtx960 - budget card, you are better off waiting for the 1070 which should be out soon
4x2 gb - 2 X 4GB
ssd 120 or 150gb - 240GB Zotac T500 for about $70 on Lazada
hdd 1tb - WD Blue 7200 rpm for about $70+

:s13: relax and take ur time to plan.

you wont be able to get stuff done if you are rushing like that.. and yes pc shows dont really sell components .. except maybe HDD

you'd be able to get the same deals at SLS anyway

Anyway, as per your specs -

gtx960 - budget card, you are better off waiting for the 1070 which should be out soon
4x2 gb - 2 X 4GB
ssd 120 or 150gb - 240GB Zotac T500 for about $70 on Lazada
hdd 1tb - WD Blue 7200 rpm for about $70+

the 1070 would be much more expensive than the 960.. :s22: :s22: almost close to double the price at least

with FE @ 449usd x 1.45 exchange rate = 650 sgd liao :s13:

maybe the 480 not the 1070

IT shows usually don't sell PC parts. Suggest you go pcthemes at sls for items you want or buy from Lazada. Because it is likely to be cheaper. And your budget ?

Oic, thanks.
Lazada i heard cheaper but im not sure on how to assemble it myself. So more likely i want to go down to a shop.
Budget maybe 2k including monitor? Looking at U2417
Of course can be a little flexible.

Yea read about that as well, but is it really necessary for my usage? thats my only concern.
Sorry yea 2x4 gb my bad.

True idk how to DIY but quite easy to find someone to help out for a small sum or if i buy all from one shop i heard they can help u set up as well?

if u can, compare the price with the one in lazada and SLS and PC show. and see which one is cheaper offer.

well still up to u, as currently 960 not that good pricing.

yes but what i mean is that u have to troubleshoot the pc on your own if there is any issues.

Agreed. The 1070 is more ex but I feel it has a better price-to-performance ratio. The 480 is much cheaper but I hesitate to recommend Polaris without more info.

Hello all,

Have decided to finally get a DIY PC and plan to get the parts at the IT Show tomorrow.
Just a quick question, is Aftershock DIY PCs recommended?
Anyway games i play are only Dota2 and Overwatch
I also use frequently to watch shows and surf the net

Budget wise lets just say it's flexible i just don't want to overkill

So current plan is

Asus h170m Plus + i5 6400
gtx960
4x2 gb
ssd 120 or 150gb
hdd 1tb
dvd drive
psu
win10
speakers (normal, average one will do)

kb: razer blackwidow chroma
mouse: razer deathadder chroma

of course for the brand of the individual items i have no clue on which is more bang for buck so i will need help from y'all
lastly, i know the kb and mouse is kind of expensive so i'm open to suggestions for anything similar.

Thanks!:s12:

You may want to do it this way:

buy at IT show:

i) Monitor (if u need 1);

ii) Speaker(Klipsch® Promedia 2.1 or creative speakers - hear it for yourself before committing);

iii) Keyboard and mouse (Razer, microsoft etc);

iv) SSD (Samsung SSD - 250GB for your OS; or u can buy from Lazada);

v) Soundcard (not really required if u are ok with onboard sound);

buy at SLS:

a) Casing;
b) CPU + Mainboard; (i6500 + B150m may just be enough for u);
c) Ram (1 x 8gb; if need more ram, u can buy next time);
d) PSU
e) GPU (buy from lazada if u want);
f) dvd drive (nowadays, dvd drives are under-utilized... but depends on u... if u still need to burn dvds...buy games with physical cd...go ahead and buy);
g) HDD - 1TB should be enough..(less than$100 nowadays);

No worries...u can just bring those individual parts bought elsewhere and get the shop to assemble for u...

Good luck...
