psu can get superflower hx 600m?

a lot of people here recommend this superflower brand, tho I've never heard of it before. Is it good? And I do prefer a semi/fully modular PSU. Any recommendations?

Superflower is a OEM PSU maker from South Korea. Their PSUs are well known by PSU reviewers (the good ones that truly know their stuff) for good build quality, good efficiency, good voltage regulation and ripple control.

The HX 600M is a 80+ Gold modular PSU and is selling for $99. Pretty cheap for a good quality PSU.

is non-modular right? Wont wire clutter be an issue?

It is a modular PSU.

Even if it isn't, wire clutter should not be too much of an issue since most modern casings comes with PSU mounts at the bottom of the casing and all these wires will be at the bottom of the casing anyway.

Wire clutter will become a concern only if using cheap casings with top-mounted PSUs, then extra work will be needed to tie the wires away from moving objects like fans.

This for $89.99 with 5 years warranty or the Superflower $99 better?

Performance wise, about the same. Build quality wise, the Superflower wins.

I think I read before that Haswell has a low power state, I do not see both the superflower or the FSP PSU mention anything about this, are they not compatible? Does G3258 have that low power thingy?

All Haswell have the low power C7 state, but seems that this low power state is disabled by default by mobo manufacturers in the BIOs to avoid any potential issues with any PSU that potential users are going to use in their system.

Hence this problem should be a non-issue.

G3258 OCed ~ 90w
Mobo + Ram ~ 45w
HDDs ~ 15w
R9 285 OCed ~ 220w
wifi card ~ 20w
Fans + Cooler pump ~ 40w

Total 430w

Take into account 30% headroom ~ 560w

Recommended you get a 600w PSU. Superflower 600 is a good bet.

almost got an FSP 500w aurum gold...very cheap now, only $77...not enough for my setup? I thought g3258 is like 50watt only? 90watt is i7 territory

That's headroom for overclock. You think overclocked the consumption will still be 50w? From experience, at 4.7ghz I hit 85w.

The calculations are all on worst case scenario. You can run it off a 500w PSU. Or even a 450w PSU. Its just that you'll definitely going to use the PSU for years and that will include depreciation of the hardware. Accumulating dust, degradation of components, etc to be taken into account, I'd recommend going for a 600W. Peace of mind for years to come. :)

PS: Without overclocking, total power consumption only 350w max. :)
