Last time I actually build a rig was many years back, lil bro's desktop just KIA, looking to build him a desktop, any kind samaritan, please assist!

Budget : $800 thereabouts
Purpose : mostly gaming
Dilemma : SSD or WD Black?
*excludes monitor, peripherals, os, dvd-rw

Go for the 2gb model.

It depends. If your bro needs the extra power, yes you can add.

But ask him if he really needs it. What kind of games he intend to play.

he's not very tech savvy, mostly CS etc, but I was hoping he can give a go at those AAA titles, low to med settings is fine.

If he needs something to play AAA titles, try getting an i5. Your budget should permits.
