hi guys, total computer noob here.

taking a break from work this month and thought i'd build a PC and get started on some games :s12::s12::s12:

i wondering if anyone has recommendations for a cheap (~$500) gaming system? have a monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers already. i've looked through the buyer's guide sticky and its really confusing :s13:

nothing too serious since i'll only be gaming for a month, and the PC will probably be a workhorse thereafter.

games i'm intending to play include bioshock infinte, GRID 2, metro 2033.

also, i'd much prefer the PC to be as physically small as possible!

thanks :)

based on ur games, u would need a $300-400 gpu to play metro 2033 on high settings. That basic $500 gaming machine u looking for, only good for cs:go, dota2, LOL lvl of games.

Not to be rude or so, but high end games need better gpu which will cost more.

i'm currently using a mac mini, and it can handle bioshock infinite quite well, so i assumed a windows machine at about the same price would handle metro 2033 similarly and solve the compatibility issues i'm facing with many of my steam games.

no offence taken :) i have close to zero technical knowledge about hardware so i'm happy to learn.

i don't need the settings to be too high - as long as the game can run on mid/low settings i'd be more than happy. if i wanted to keep the budget as low as possible, what sort of configuration would you recommend?
