I have a DIY system that is not booting up.

Mobo: Asus m5a99x evo r2.0
Cpu: AMD fx6300
Ram: 4 x 1600 Kingston DDR2
GPU: Asus GT740
Psu: Seasonic 650w 80+ gold

When I attempt to boot up, the CPU LED light lights up but there is no beep and the system does not boot up.

Any pro out there who can build me on what could he the possible problem?

not pro here but u can do few things.

do a trial and error method especially for your rams.

use 1 ram at a time and see if it runs, test each rams.

still cant then try taking out your cmos battery for 5 secs and put it back again.

remove all ram , cards and hard disks.

turn it on and listen to the beeps, check with manual to find out whether the error code is correct.

then reboot with memory plugged in, again listen to error code to make sure that it is correct.

next is the grahpic card.

if ok then plug in hard disk.

you should be able to pin point the problem by going through the steps.

Have you connected the speaker?

Did it previously beep?

I've seen a similar issue a few times before, and it was either faulty PSU or the motherboard died (bloated cap, corrosion)
