Which ISP are you on ?
If you are new to networking, better to use Teamviewer. It is free for personal use.
No need to mess around with the router and port forwarding.
TS, you need to do port-forwarding for port 80 (or 443 if using HTTPS) to your NAS IP address.
TS, you might also want to set a ddns AFTER getting the Port Forwarding to work.
goto dlinkddns.com and create a new account.
Refer to: DLink DNS-320 Dynamic DNS Setup - YouTube
If port 80 is block, you will have to assigned another port for example 8080 to port 80 of your NAS.
You can then access your NAS by example.dlinkddns.com:8080
I have port forward port 21 and 443. As for port 80, my ISP starhub is blocking.
If your ISP has indeed block port 80 then you shouldn't be getting the router webUI when access remotely. It's a known fact that SH cable BB block port 80 but their fibre BB doesn't. My advice is to use secure HTTP to access as this has proven to work on both SH BB platform.
BTW, if your router support DDNS (most do) then set this on the router instead of the NAS, ie. only enable one.
How do i setup HTTP? and also I had DDNS enable. Look at the photo as the domain is not inside my router. What to do??
Create port-forwarding for port 443 to your NAS internal address and use https to access. For example: https://YourAcctName.ddlinkdns.com (do remember to tick SSL Login in NAS webUI).
As for DDNS on router, select "dyndns.org", account and password as created in ddlinkdns.com and enter "YourAcctName.ddlinkdns.com" (replace text in bold with actual account name) in dynamic domain name field.
Do remember to disable DDNS service in the NAS.
I'm able to get into webUI login page, but after i typed my password. it says "This user account is currently in use by somebody else. Please contact the administrator or try to login later."
Check if there are other computer accessing the NAS webUI. Try clearing the browser cache or switch web browser. BTW, which NAS firmware are you on?
Using the v2.03b03. The login is intermittent.. I remove all cache from mobile to web browser. But both platform still says someone is login into my account..
Hmm, I only encountered this when I forget to logoff from an existing session and access again from another computer. Try logging in using normal user account.
Local login should work correctly rite? Reboot NAS to confirm.
