DLink NAS DNS-323

My DLink DNS-323 has recently went dead. Will I be able to use my current HDD on another NAS without extracting and transferring the data?

If I need to extract the data from my HDD, will a HDD Docking station do the job? Can I read my HDD from DNS-323 as a normal HDD?

2. Yes, Ext2fsd works well with DNS-323 HDD.

the same NAS (same make and model).

Otherwise you could gamble your chances with another D-Link NAS.

My advice: get a better brand NAS and restore your data so that infuture you can simply switch model by just plugging the existing hdd into the new NAS. Brand that supports such swap is i.e. Synology.

dns323 is using ext3, you can manually use any linux machine to read
