Yes. Panmunjom's english name is Joint Security Area, where u can see the UN blue houses, and see NK soldiers from afar. The rest of DMZ is just forest and some tunnel/monuments here and there. Go for JSA tour will do. The rest can skip.

i booked from my hotel reception. KRW87,000. don't need to pay in advance until that day. i can't recall the name already but can get those brochures from hotel lobby. some of the coys are endorsed by the KTO.

they can pickup from various hotels, but if you don't want to be picked up so early, can meet at hotel president at myeongdong before 9am.

i think can, as long as you can communicate your location to the tour operator. you have to send them photos of your passport also.

I booked my JSA tour through www.dongbotravel.com.
Paid 70usd for a full day tour (in dec 2014).

The main tour guide (korean lady who spoke good english) was speaking in english, but there were four japanese guest onboard with another guide who helped to translate the info into japanese for them.

Once we are in the DMZ zone, an American soldier took over the role of tour guide. So I guess having an American soldier guide in JSA is not limited to only the tours operated by koridoor, but a standard protocol for all tour groups in JSA area.
