Hey guys, is there a proper way to "shutdown" DNS? Or do I just power off straight away?
press and hold the off button for around 5 to 10 seconds

do NOT switch off the mains power just like that

Have been playing with my DNS-323 over the holidays. Some observations I found and would like to confirm.

I have been having problems with ftp to my DNS-323 remotely. Everything works in the LAN, but when I ftp from WAN (SNBB), I cannot seem to see the content of my directory. Can put and get. It will hang but I can get the file out and put the file in.

Suspected that the problem lies with my DGL-4300. After playing around with the setting, it appears that it is the SPI that is causing the ftp problem. After disabling SPI, things work like a charm.

Anyone encountered this problem before?

I got mine yesterday with a samsung 500G 16MB buffer. Works fine, though thinking out the groups takes a little time.

Cost is as above.

Will wait for price to fall further before getting it. Also there NAS seems to be going mainstream. Saw a few other brands in SLS
