DNS-323 Network Storage

Anyone using Transmission & Clutch facing any problem with some torrent files? I tried to add the torrent for Fedora8 DVD in http://torrent.fedoraproject.org/
Using the URL or browse file (after I dl the torrent) won't work. Clicked Upload and the dialog is still open and no files added. Some others torrent works fine.

I followed Shadowandy steps. The only difference maybe I didnt isntall mldonkey before? Or is it my OS config.

for those who are configuring samba on this nas with read list / write list parameters, I realised that default security is via Share. Thus you may not be able to use read list / write list parameters by default. What I did is that I have a smb.conf I've modified from original, place them in /mnt/HD_a2 and created a samba.sh to copy this back to /etc/samba/ and add this to fun_plug. Do note that smbpasswd file do get reverted to previous state when you created the share depending on situation. So do backup your smbpasswd also. if not you can always do a smbpasswd -a <user> again

Not sure about the smb.conf file though, I can't seem to find where the "saved" user and folder share settings(created via web interface) are yet... No time nor interested in checking yet since I don't want the samba settings to be permanent(with the exception of users).

Of course, you can also save permanently the smb.default file to firmware if you plan to edit that.

Should be able to since the NAS runs off the ramdisk, as well as not formatting after upgrading.

thanks bro. quite lazy to read thru the fun_plug portion too much. Just enabled telnet and did a simple script to copy everytime it starts serves my purpose well. That should suffice

Anyone get iTunes server working? My iTunes was unable to find my shared folder in the DNS323. I have turn on the Itune server. Did I misses anything? Do I need to open ports in the router?

I found out from dlink website from some countries say that they include scandisk and defrag in the dns-323
how come our local dns-323 doesn't include?

which version of itunes are you using? I'm using itunes 7.6 and it's able to discover my itunes server automatically. Check disabling your firewall if any

also check you itunes settings

go to preferences and under sharing tab, ensure that look for shared libraries box is ticked

I'm using the latestest version. Downloaded 2 days ago.
