No, i just create a empty folder named 'tmp' inside Volume_1.
than i just upload .torrent files as normal in clutch.
i think the extra folder is only used by lighttpd for temporary caches. (i might be wrong)

Bro, thanks.
Now all those torrent that cannot upload previously, now can liao.

Hi, not sure if this has been posted.

I am following TuaKong's Idiot's Guide to Installing Transmission and Clutch.

When I get to the part to start 'cmd', I can't telnet. The system don't recognised.
Did a quick google on 'Telnet' and found that it's turned off in Vista.

It can be turned back on inside Control Panel --> Programs and Features
You can find an option to turn Windows features on or off.

After which you will encountered a long list where you will see Telnet Server and Telnet Client.
I just check both the sqauare boxes to enable Telnet.
Some say, either Telnet Server or Telnet client will do just fine.

Anyway, great guide there. Could be enhance with screenshots.

Use putty, a telnet/ssh lightweight software, google for it... and don't turn on Telnet Server.

I turned it on. It worked ok. Any issues I need to know of? Security?

Maybe will download putty like you say.

Anyway, to brother sonic who is also my colleague, BT speeds depend on many factors, ultimately how generous those people are in terms of uploading speeds.

a Closeup of the Download speeed I am experiencing.

Just to clarify, these torrents have large numbers of seed/leech. Like thousands.

Just a quick question, if the files in the torrent has chinese names, will Clutch be able to open? Cause I am having issues with one.

It's not like Clutch can take everything you throw at it. There are limitations. But overall I am quite satisfied with the performance so far, except it can be further improved.

The good news is, I don't have to turn on my PC just to let the BT run. It consumes much more electricity. Whereas for the NAS, Router and modem will come up to 50W tops. Maybe be even lower. So it's great.

Actually a few of us tried out the in-built BT software but the speed is virtually non-existent. After a while, we came into the forum here and consulted the guide to install other software. Try the guide out. it's not super technical.

Glad to hear than but still trying the out of the box for now.
Managed to get connected by very lousy speeds.

Compared to the same file on my PC is much faster after 3hrs is 25% on PC and 1.6% on DNS323.

Look like you missed out the starting slash, should be "/mnt/HD_a2/www/pages/clutch/remote/data/socket.txt" without quotes.

18. If you encounter ‘Permission Denied’ during BT, then Telnet to your DSN323 again to give your Torrents folder ‘write’ access. Enter this command:
- chmod -R a=rwx /mnt/HD_a2/<Torrents>

The above giving me problem. what to enter? Do i need to enter this every single time I BT from clutch?

yes you can off ur PC but don't off ur NAS.

Guys i got another Qn. The NAS is quite hot after i let it run for a whole day... scared it will spoil, is that okay. This fella can perform under extreme conditions?

Thanks...this device is hot even w/o BT running. About 40+ degrees!
I use a fan to blow just in case.

My DL speed is super SLOW! Quite waste time. 15kb/s ONLY!
