Since when is uTorrent open-source?Any bro can post a detailed intro of how to install utorrent onto DNS-323?

"Right" refers to when the NAS with led lights in front facing you.
Is your WD the new ones with 4K sectors ?
What brand harddisks are u using and which firmware version are you on?
Usually (for my case at least - Western Digital) degraded doesn't really mean hard disk failed.
Sometimes one of the HDD gets kicked out of the RAID array, and just need to rejoin the array to rebuild.
Does it say "advanced format" on the harddisk sticker?
If I'm not mistaken, the EARS series are those with the 4K sectors.
Most NAS at the moment cannot handle 4k-sector disks well, and will get degraded fast/frequently. dns-323 stock firmware cannot align itself properly with the 4K sectors, and is not supported officially.
I'm using the WD 1TB Green on my DNS-323. Lately I'm having problems deleting folders from my BT folder. I installed funplug and managed to telnet in to delete the folders, except 1 folder which I got the input/output error for the list of files in the directory. I'm not able to delete the files as well.
In windows, the folder shows empty but I'm unable to delete the folder (which resulted in me installing funplug to enable telnet).
I googled and found that it could be a sign of HDD failing so I used the scandisk function in the DNS-323. The result was "Failed".
Does that mean my 1TB HDD is going to kick the bucket soon?
I bought it from PC Themes with a 5-year 1-1 exchange warranty by Achieva. If I need to RMA, may I know if I should go back to PC Themes or Achieva?
Thanks in advance.
I notice after I shut down my dns323, my bittorrent settings are gone when I switch on later. Is this normal?
Is your WD Green the Advanced format ones or the old ones? The EARS version with 4k sectors is known to have problems with DNS 323. If you are still able to access the data, copy everything out first then you can try to delete the partitions and reformat the disk. If I didn't remember wrongly, there are special instructions to format the disk to align to 4k sectors. Otherwise u'll have to RMA with Achieva or WD directly.

Mine's the EADS. Read from Dlink forum that the EARS isn't fully compatible with the DNS-323. I look at the pricelists in SLS, can't seem to find any WD Green EADS liao![]()
Yikes. Backup your data and send it for RMA. Call Achieva to see if they still have stock for 1-to-1 first. If they don't have stock, it'll take 3-4 weeks before you can collect it from Achieva. Otherwise you can consider bringing it to Flextronics at Chai Chee directly, they'll courier the replacement to your address.
Achieva is at Pasir Panjang right? according to http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2908585 , if i bring to Flextronics i may lose the 4th and 5th year warranty leh.
do you know if WD has any diskcheck tools for hdd formatted in ext2/3 (in the dns-323)? just want to be sure that it's faulty as I don't know how reliable is the scandisk tool in the dns-323.
I have tried Seatools for my seagate hdd but that was formatted in ntfs hence I had no problems.
thanks bro.
