Do I need an upgrade?

Just installed Anthem last night and I was averaging 30fps with 1440p with settings at low.

My specs are on the right - built in on December 2016.

Is it time i upgraded my graphics card or can i squeeze another year out of it? I have not overclocked the card yet.

Was looking at at RTX2060 but not sure if i wanna ball 500 atm and lets say i bought one, any recommendations on card? Using a Corsair Air 240 and i believe only Founders Edition would fit. Current card barely fits with the cable squeezed on the panel. Attached pic of my case.

the gtx 970 was never meant for 1440p, especially with only 3gb vram

try running at 1080p upscale and see if you can live with it. play around with settings; lower textures and aa to minimum.

if you want to run games at 1440p decently, you'll need a gtx 1070 and up

gtx 1070/ti/80, vega 56/64
pros - 8gb vram, clearance sales occasionally at good prices
cons - higher power, older tech

gtx 1660ti
pros - newer tech, lower power
cons - 6gb vram, similar to gtx 1070 performance

rtx 2000
pros - near gtx 1080 level performance
cons - higher power, expensive, rtx tax for nothing

so it depends on your budget and if you can get any good deals that may come along

Playing a new game on above 1080p resolution with an obsolete GPU = No no

play at 1080p is ok. now gpu and memory prices are quite high.

Will look for either a 1070ti or a 1660ti which fits in my case.
