Do I need to get a cpu cooler?

Core temp is telling me that my fx-6300 is running at about 75 degrees when all cores are on around 70% load. I can hear my stock cpu cooler ramp up when doing virus scans and playing dota2.

I think that I should go buy a cpu cooler. But the problem could also be due to a lack of fans on my cheapo casing. (Only have 1 intake and 1 exhaust and both fans are smaller than 120mm) Already maxed out on fans for my casing already. In this case, would getting a aftermarket cpu cooler make sense seeing that there is low airflow into the case for the cooler anyway?

I could remove all the 5.25 bay covers to open space for airflow. Running without a side panel is a no go though.

If yes, which cooler should I go for? Hyper 212??

My casings are also having one intake and one exhaust. But both are 120mm type.

wow thats pretty high for only dota gaming? what casing are you using..before you buy u need to check whether it can fit your casing first

Curious, what are your idle temps? More than 10C above ambient temp?

From googling, seems like your cpu tends to run hot and the stock cooler is pretty noisy. From that alone sounds like it's worth it to upgrade the stock cooler, since the hyper 212 evo is not very ex. But you need to check if it can fit in your case first.

Can monitor and compare temps before and after, then you know if your chassis needs to be changed? But if you have the budget, can consider changing case + fan at one go, since you're going to be removing the mobo anyway.

On idle, my temps are around 40-45. Not too sure about the casing. Its unbranded though. Will measure the clearance later

Amd cpu advisable to get aftermarket cooler. Although the stock cooler is better now but still insufficient imo. Afterall, amd cpu all are unlocked and able to overclock.

My CPU idle temperature sits at 60 degrees... weird..
During dota, it can rise to 80%.
When playing Tera or Witcher 1 (10years old game) the CPU temperature is 87 degrees.

Cleaned the stock cooler, etc still the same.
I am using the NZXT Phantom 410 series as casing though.
Fans are working fine (just 2 stock fans that come w casing).

GPU idles at 41 degrees, during gaming can hit 78 degrees.
Some additional info is that i have a Sound Blaster card sandwich between the CPU n GPU, which gets really hot as it is in a full aluminium casing.

You could try replacing the thermal compound

Stock coolers doesnt make noise le , but of cus at least a 212 cooler would be better . cheap n good

Get a bigger cooler for your CPU will definitely beneficial
