You dont have to deposit a minimum amount for tiger broker. For the lucky draw, you can look at what you draw before you deposit the money. If you got lucky and got AAPL or AMZN, then why not deposit the money inside to get the share? Else, if you get ford, then maybe dont need to bother much liao...

I believe Tiger broker is the second cheapest in the market.

PM me for referral link for tiger broker

Interactive broker but they will charge USD10 per month if you do not have USD100k inside the account or do not generate USD10 commission charge for that month.

Thus, tiger broker seems to be able to fill up this gap if you are looking to trade the US market

US TIGER SECURITIES, INC.
is a registered brokerage firm at SEC(CRD: 120583οΌ›SEC: 8-65324) and NFA (0328552), a member of FINRA/SIPC and regulated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC)--a nonprofit industry membership organization that provides limited insurance for customers in cases where their brokerage firm defaults, becomes insolvent, or runs into a financial crisis. SIPC protection is limited up to $500,000 for securities and cash or $250,000 for only cash.

An account holder at a SIPC-member brokerage firm is protected regardless of whether they are a U.S. citizen or non-U.S. citizen.

So dont hold more than $250k in tiger broker if you are worried.

The $10 per month is include your commission right?

Means if you took some trades which amount to $10 commission, you won't need to pay another $10?

If your commission is $10 or more, then no need to pay the monthly fee for IB.

Tiger does not have such fee. So you might want to consider Tiger instead of IB if the $10 monthly account fee is a push factor

Tiger Securities Inc you get SIPC protection

Is it confirmed that if your account is with their subsidiary Tiger Brokers (Singapore) Pte Ltd, you also get SIPC protection?

Thats the same question they are asking in the IBKR thread.
