It is indeed intrusive and taking up screen estate. Even more so I would say, from 13PM. Those using ZF4 and has gotten used to the full screen estate most likely may not like iPhone’s DI.

But that’s what Apple is slowly trying to do. Taking away the notch and giving us DI that is interactive this yr so as to have something frontal that could differentiate between past iPhone pro models and this year’s.

So, next year they could slowly shrink the size of that Island, and the Grand Finale in the years ahead to come would be evthg under the pixels of the screen. That is their aim right from the start of building iPhone.

i just take it that .. in my next phone upgrade (4 years later), probably we will have under screen camera and modules for face id ..

I actually find it quite interactive with apps at times, but also depending if you actually used those apps. I am to drive with Apple Maps and look at others like WhatsApp or text without losing the navigation signage. Reaching to exit 500m or so the dynamic island will enlarge and show exit signs and direction and then shrink back. This integration is nice to see and I hope google maps able to do it in future (Apple Maps still not as good as Gmaps)
