How come graphics card makers don't bundle a support bracket as an accessory when I keep hearing people making noise about sagging?

If it's a common problem and source of complaint, it should be something valid to address.

Maybe cos those who complain are 1%, the rest happy with it nothing to complain about? E.g., I've no issues with mine. Dunno if can call it a 'common' problem.

I think if they bundle something generic that will fit most cases, most people will end up not using it cos it doesn't match their theme/aesthetic preference, etc... They'll say it's ugly, cos everyone's cases/tastes differ so much. For ppl like me, no use for it at all. It will just be a wasted accessory that adds unnecessary cost to the overall package for everyone.

You guys should take a cue from SMRT, use cable tie.

Can use on train track, no reason why it won't work for a graphic card. :s13:

The price of a GPU support bracket seem high to me, moreover, it does not suit every casing.
Yups, cable tie the PCIe PSU cables to create tension. :s13:

I cant think of how to cable tie a GPU. Where to cable tie it and where to cable tie it to. Coz most of the time, going by the design of GPUs, the cable tie might just interfere with the cooling efficiency (blocking some airflow or create minor turbulence) and/or operation of the card (in contact with moving parts like fan blades.

Saw one example, not too clear, looks like loop around one of the cooling pipes?

This one looks like a good idea, blends in more.

...

Well, the impression I get is it is asked at least once every month in here.

This question is as common as "today Sim Lim Square got open?" :vijayadmin:

Think if you do a search, last year there were only two threads started on it, lol. This year so far only one.

This question is as common as "today Sim Lim Square got open?" :vijayadmin:

Haha, the famous question. I think that kinda supports my point right? Just because some joker always asks that question, we still can't say that it's a 'common' question for most of the people here. We know that most of us are familiar enough with SLS already, we are not the ones asking it.

This one should be customize, not every dual slots graphic card using identical shroud hence the thickness varies between brand/model.

But then, this is the easiest to manufacture, laser cut easy job.

Then again wouldn't it be effective f the support is at the other end of the gpu? Since the supporting structures needs to exert less upward force compared to being closer at the pcie slot to provide the same support

That's why this one should be a customize option, the fulcrum must be position to provide the best support. Without adjustable length or point of support (as far as possible), it won't fit every card card in the market.

From the picture, there is a small adjustable space of around +/- 3mm for the height, this should be enough but the point of support still need to tailored for different card.
