If so what are the symptoms of a bad fuel filter

This is one of those myth local workshops loves to con car drivers to change fuel filter at 40k or 80k.
Times are different, nowadays petrol are no longer as dirty(contaminated with dirt) as back in the 80s
Change fuel filter when you overhaul your engine at 200k

oh is it... Online says every 10 000 miles But fuel filter is quite cheap aye
Think TS mix up fuel and oil filter. The fuel filter is cheap but the labour is tedious. So the charges is not cheap for most cars.
Usually need to dismantle rear seats and do.
There is no specific symptom cos it there is a problem the troubleshooting starts from spark plugs/cylinder area/sensors/engine then fuel line all the way to fuel filter then fuel tank.

Fuel filter not cheap. Depending on the car model. Labour quite tedious.
He nv mix up. Fuel filter is at rear passanger seat.
And indeed the filter is affordable but labour can be expensive.
Also heard the first change for fuel filter if workmanship is bad.......can lead to many problems.
I've been on 50% jb oil for past 3yrs nv changed before.
Old car usually in the engine bay.... Now all new car mostly submerged in fuel tank... Ur video is 2000 Civic......fuel filter at rear passenger seat is it mostly conti cars?
at least for civic it is at engine bay area and easily accessible?
few mths ago i'm having random misfiring and rough idling. change my spare injector and change spark plug and even loaded stock map and still having issue
i decide to check my fuel filter and the cardboard filter is clogged, remove the filter and finally it working
recently i decided to renew my coe and now ordering parts for new pump kit and after market filter from deatschwerks.
160k km and only pump shell 98 for my 06 wrx
its relatively easy to DIY and take about 1hr even for a noob mechanic and i advise to change it in a open space with lots of ventilation and a empty fuel tank
Be very careful as prolonged duration will have petrol intoxication effect........and in car space will be tainted for a few days of petrol smell.
