Manjanggul Lava Tube

I wish I could find a better video. Lava tubes are formation of dry tubes after volcanic lava cools. Manjanggul Lava Tube located in Korea is some 300,000 years old. Partial section are open to public on Jeju Island.

Old air planes parts are actually melted and reused to build new planes. That is how it works in Western countries. Commercial air planes of future, as plane fleet around the world retires due to wear and tear, the number of models that will be still flying will gradually reduce.

The North Korea series actually got more than 30 episodes so don't think I am being bias here. Later on then I take you to North Korea to look at them again from another view.

Today, we go to Taiwan to look at Aquaponics or 魚菜共生 which is possible if you have a small balcony yet with sunshine available. Using water only is call Hydroponics. So later on we will look at Singapore Hydroponics.

Aquaponics factor in both fish and vegetables whilst Hydroponics concentrate only on vegetables. The water is dosed with various plant nutrient such as Nitrogen, Potassium, Iron, etc. in both cases.

Reduction of sun on these water means less algae growth. Algae growth can boom within a short 3hrs period if not controlled properly. So in any case, Singapore is also catching up the aquaponics concept.

This is not really a hobby but a sustainable solution. Water will be reuse in the process but however it will not be fully recycled due to evaporation. Evaporation rate varies from day to day in Singapore.

Heh....if you thinking of using toyogo box, know that constant exposure to sun and water elements also means this box will crack, it is not as lasting as you think it is. If you are an urban farmer with vertical concept, then you'd check this constantly after 2 years or so. Additional LED Light can be installed to counter rainy days.

Due to hike in oil prices to over $80USD per barrel at the moment. More and more people are looking into Solar power. But we can't really run Solar at its full capacity at HDB, only small capacity one. ROI or return on investment is pretty low if you just rely on solar setup alone.

This video looks at a smaller capacity setup which is viable for HDB flats and if you are road warrior who travels a lot.

1. How much do you know about power banks?
2. How much do you know about solar cells and how they work?

My take for you, get a small solar panel which can usb connects to your power bank. That's it. Quick and simple.

Whilst you at it, you can skip these models. I really build quite a number of them on my end to test out. Not really that satisfactory.

In Western countries, Motorhomes have become a trend for those minimalist. That concept have also readily been caught up by that of Asia countries. We don't see that much in Singapore but here is one motorhome video on how they look like.

Others might even install Aircon but you will need power station to charge your battery up or simply use a power generator possibly running on diesel. Of course, they have to think what to do with the waste discharge as well.

Its perhaps a reason why alot of businesses or trends work in other places but come local straight mati before it can even get started much.

Now with internet age, no longer information blackout, many can find out and see for themselves, from the comparison of things in other places, and why it cannot or hard to exist locally, think can more or less understand why local economy stagnant or lagging behind others in certain sense. Its too narrow, alot of things cannot do or too much restrictions.

Another way to think about it is that our infrastructure do not really support MotorHome concept. At least for now. Foreign countries have vast lands whilst people love travelling around. Living in one however, is a totally different experience.

Prolong period is as good as living on a boat or a submarine. Sooner or later you get tired with it. That does not mean you won't get tired of living on landed or HDB flats. Motorhomes does not mean they don't have internet. *wick wick*
