I recently set up a 100gb partition for windows and chrome only. All the other programmes and games and files are on another partition

I am using my microsoft account for the windows login. If my windows become slow and i reset the partition, it will delete and reinstall windows right? Will i still have all my settings/drivers? And all the useless crap i uninstalled like candy crush, will they be auto deleted?

dun think so, the linked account only sync your digital license (depends on your Windows license type) and enable remote lock, there no other option for restoring Windows setting, I think the closest is those interfere settings where you run multiple copies of Windows with one M$ account then you can use it to sync them as the same settings.

You can check for yourself by linking your Windows and Microsoft account then login to your M$ account to see if you can find such option.

Linking to MS account makes it easier for MS to know every single thing you are doing on your computer.

They can't even get regular updates right, it would be revolutionary if they could get such a restore feature working bug-free

It does not work in this way as you think so.

First you may need to set up an Microsoft account in their Cloud storage.

Next you have to sync Microsoft & Windows settings.

In other word, you need to backup your current programs/data separately, if you want to reset/re-install Windows.

Currently it sync all your Microsoft email accounts in their servers.
